When choosing any exterior car wash products for your vehicle, remember to consider the age and condition of your paint and whether or not it has a clearcoat finish. (Most late-model vehicles have a clearcoat finish sprayed over the paint that helps protect the color and gives a high gloss shine.) If you have a clearcoat finish, be sure to buy only products that specifically state they are safe for clearcoats, or for all paint finishes.

Use plenty of water to rinse away large soil particles before washing. These abrasive materials are a primary cause of scratches and swirl marks in the paint finish. Wash gently, but thoroughly and rinse before the surfaces dry to avoid streaks.
